Breaking the Walls

Ephesians 2:14 “For He Himself is our peace who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation…”

Sundays have always been a different kind of day for me. Many times throughout my life I have wished that many places were still closed on Sunday because there is a certain spiritual peace in the quiet of people being in their homes rather than shopping and going about life as a normal day.

Ephesians 2:14 makes the point to which the Holy Spirit has communicated, why it is so important to set aside a day of rest. It is not only to be still and know who is God, THE God, creator, healer and sustainer of everything we are, but to reflect on our actions and what is in our hearts.

When Christ died for us, He made the way to salvation. He was the peice to our peace in breaking the wall between God and man, the law and grace, the flesh and the spirit, eternal death and eternal life. On a day of rest and reflection, we must be sure to reflect on Jesus and his work so we can be sure He is reflecting in our life.

Is there an area of your life that His peace needs to reign in so that He can break down the wall of pride, judgement, or resentment (there could be more that may need to be inserted here…)? Wherever there is chaos and confusion, God is not there! In fact, it is the very opposite of everything God is. Invite the Holy Spirit to show you where their are walls in your life that He needs to break down so you can feel His peace and be peace in the midst of the storms of life.
