“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love…”
Counting spiritual blessings on a daily basis will not only remind you what God has given you, but it also maintains a humble and thankful spirit–a lifestyle that allows Christ to reign in every action and motion of our being. The more selfish and self-centered actions you see on a daily basis, are you hearing your spirit cry out for something more? Are you feeling like there is supposed to be something more to this life than a nice house, a job, a car, pta meetings, Friday night outings… it’s because there is!
Jesus is calling this generation to a new level of worship and repentence that generations before us have not reached, like David and the early church. He says to be IN the world and not OF the world. If we go to far in the ways of the world we risk not hearing the most precious voice of them all- our comforter, the Holy Spirit. Jesus sent the Holy Spirit just after His resurrection so we could seek and feel His comfort and peace as the days of tribulation came close and the world descended into chaos…this same Holy Spirit is the one we feel moving from day to day in what seems like the little things. If we begin to listen more closely, these seemingly small moves to the flesh become powerful strides in the spirit. We begin to run the race with endurance forcusing on the cross and the power and passionate lifestyle that follow living life for the furtherance of the truth of Jesus Christ.
After you decide to follow Christ, life will never be the same. Set aside time everyday to give thanks to the healer and sustainer, rejuvenator of our once dead spirit man, and choose to follow Christ no matter the cost to forever thank Him for choosing you before time even began.
