Daily Battles

Spiritual battles aren’t something we just sit and wait for…they are happening on a daily basis! From the battle of your mind to battles at work and more intense battles with health and relationships. In the states our battles aren’t always as big as those in other places in the world, but we cannot be foolish and think that we are not constantly fighting the evil powers of the spirit realm.

My son starting pre-school this year has made me more aware of what our battle is on a daily basis. We constantly fight to bring Jesus into a world that is trying to take him out and replace Him with themselves. From schools being tolerant of any religion, to not being able to wear anything affiliated with any one belief, we are training our children to be tolerant of everything and be one dimensional. Work to get something better, be the best you can be, pull from the power within you…what is all this junk (honestly, not even the word I was thinking to describe some of this stuff…)? There is even New Age jewelry at Target. Target!! We always feel like we have safe zones…and I am glad Go is awakening me too realize we have no safe zones without His presence.

Life is a constant battle at times. Ephesians 5:8-10 “For you were once in darkness, but now you ARE LIGHT in the Lord. Walk as children of light (for the fruit of the spirit is in all goodness, righteouness and, truth) finding out what is acceptable to the Lord.” Once you have been awakened to the LIGHT don’t dwell in the darkness! Clothe yourselves in “the full armor of God so that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” (Ephesians 6:11,13) It goes on to say in the end of verse 13 “…that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all to stand.”

Don’t just claim Christ and study His word every once and a while, SUBMERGE yourself in His word so that you can be ready. “Bringing every thought into the captivity to the obedience of Christ and being ready to punish all disobedience when you obedience is fulfilled.” (2 Corinthians 10:5-6) This has been the toughest for me, but now that I realize it is literally every thought, I have had a lot more work to do! The battle starts in the mind. Take your thoughts and your struggles to the throne of God out loud, and Satan loses ground. The ability to confuses and distract is in the quiet battle, never give in to the thought that you are too tired or you will just say it in your min this once… I had done that for too many years and it was through the confession outloud that strongholds started flying off of me. Everything was coming to the light. Stay in the light!
